For the first week, I took one tablet in the morning. For this first week I was extremely tired. I still take my multi vitamin , glucosamine, allergy medicine and acid reflux medicine. I would expect to have much more energy while taking the medicine. I typically take my first pill in the morning with my breakfast. If I take it after I eat, I get very nauseous. Another side effect that I have is that I get dizzy. But I think that this will go away once my body has gotten used to this medicine.
I am now on my second week. I take one pill in the morning and one pill at night. This is supposed to suppress my appetite and block my hunger. I tried to track my weight with my scale but it seemed like my scale would show that I am up 10 pounds one day and down five the next. So it wasn't consistent. At the doctor's office I weight 334 and this was before I started Contrave.
Contrave had a program available until June 30 called ScaleDown. They would send you a scale and monitor your weight and give you advise and tips on your weight loss. The scale is linked to them through cellular towers (so they say). No one else is supposed to use the scale but the one taking the Contrave. So after one week of Contrave, I received my scale. My first official weigh in was this morning. Their scale said i am at 327.4. Then I got a text message saying that I should keep my calories at 1679 a day in order to lose 4 pounds in 2 weeks.
So along with eating correctly, I'm back to working out. I am walking again. This time I have my youngest son who goes with me! He is helping to keep me motivated or on track. I am back in the water again. Right now the plan is 2 nights a week in the water. And after a few weeks I will go on Monday nights as well. Its going to be a slow and hopefully steady process. I want this to work. I need this to work! So I will continue to eat healthy, workout, drink my water and take my medicine.
I will look back on this in 15 weeks and see what changes I have gone through. How much healthier I will be, how much thinner I will be. So here's to the reboot of my journey!!
